ACCREDITED VALLEY OF THE SUN ANTIQUE DEALERS ASSOCIATION TO HOLD VERBAL "ANTIQUE ROAD SHOW" APPRAISAL CLINIC AT NOVEMBER PHOENIX ANTIQUE MARKET
Arizona Antique Show's show this November will be an exciting one. There will be some fabulous merchandise shown for the first time after dealers return from their summer travels scouring up the country's finest antiques from all over. In addition, the critically acclaimed "Valley of the Sun Antique Dealers Association (VSADA)" will be offering a $5.00 verbal appraisal clinic to anyone who attends the show!
The VSADA is one of the oldest and highly regarded Antique Dealers association in the valley. A non-profit organization, they have existed for over 25 years with a combined wealth of knowledge exceeding hundreds of
years and continue to enlighten collectors with their expertise. All honorary members are "vetted", which means they have the experience necessary in appraising, verifying and authenticating accuracy, authenticity and validity of antiques. The organization adheres to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. To insure integrity to the public, it's the
policy of VSADA that items appraised by the organization cannot be sold to their members so please do not come with intent to sell, but instead find
the value of your treasure.
George Notorpole, president of VSADA, feels that "Antiques are a part of our heritage and history." "It is who we are!" He and the organization hopes
to help re-ignite antique collecting and spread knowledge about antiques so that others can carry on the historic tradition of collecting and keep the love of antiques alive.
George remembers an "Antique Road Show" moment when two young girls brought in a rug to be appraised. They claim they pulled the rug out of a dumpster. It ended up being a Tribal Indian Chief's Rug. Tribal Chief's rugs were very special and high ranking and each rug was woven specifically for that tribe. The appraised value: $30,000!!!!
If you go to the show, be sure to bring along your favorite antiques and have them verbally appraised by one of VSADA's experts. The cost is only $5
per item. You may bring any general antique you like to have it appraised, excluding fine jewelry or precious metals.
The Phoenix Antique Market is November 21-22, 2009 at the Arizona State Fairgrounds at 1826 W. McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85007. Hours are Saturday, 9am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm.Free admission to the show, $7 parking
